I create jewellery with my hands, where macramé textile techniques meet occasional metal and natural stones, inspired by nature, textures, and the treasures of the ocean. Each piece tells a story of time, intention, and care, designed to be unique.
My name is Florie Dupont, a French artisan jeweller born in the Alps in 1984. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Jewellery Design in Amsterdam in 2007, I settled in Geneva, where I worked for ten years in the luxury and high-jewellery industry. In 2014, I completed a Master’s degree and was awarded the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation Prize for Excellence. Throughout my career, I have worked as an independent designer, allowing me to develop my personal style while combining professional precision with refined craftsmanship.Thamma Joia was born in 2017 from a turning point in my life, when I left Geneva and moved to the Algarve mountains in Portugal.
Today, nature is at the heart of my inspiration. Long walks along the beach, collected shells, stones, sea glass shaped by time, and natural textures all influence my designs. My jewellery reflects a blend of minimalist lines, and classic elegance, made to be worn daily and cherished.Living and working in the Algarve mountains in Portugal in a conscious lifestyle focused on simplicity, autonomy, and respect for nature, naturally influences my creative process, where each piece is made slowly, thoughtfully, and with care.
Thamma Joia is a space where I share my passion for handmade textile jewellery, shaped by both my high-jewellery expertise and a love for natural, durable, and ethically sourced materials. ❀Curiculum VitæBorn in Saint Julien en Genevois in 1984, Florie Dupont began studying jewellery and object design at HEAD–Geneva in 2002. During her studies, she took part in an Erasmus exchange at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, where she decided to stay and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Jewellery Design in 2007.After returning to Geneva, she trained in gemstone setting at a Swiss watchmaking company for two years before establishing her own studio, Florie Dupont Organic Jewellery. There, she created distinctive pieces that combined raw and refined aesthetics, merging a deeply personal artistic vision with traditional jewellery-making techniques. Through this unique approach, her work bridged the worlds of fine jewellery and contemporary art.She then worked for three years as an assistant in the Jewellery Design Department at HEAD–Geneva. In 2013, she became responsible for jewellery classes at the École des Beaux-Arts du Genevois (EBAG) in Annemasse.That same year, she won the Young Designers Prize organised by Ateliers d'Art de France in Paris. Her work was exhibited at Maison&Objet and at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. In 2014, she completed a Master's degree in Fashion and Accessory Design at HEAD–Geneva and received the Excellence Award from the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation (Rolex).In 2017 she left Geneva to settle in the mountains of the Algarve, Portugal. There, she became the mother of two boys and embraced a slower, nature-centred way of life in a self-made and self-sufficient tiny home. It was there that she founded her textile jewellery brand, Thamma Joia, inspired by the ocean and the intricate art of micro-macramé. By working with textile techniques, she creates jewellery that is more accessible while preserving the precision and discipline of high jewellery. The result is a collection of expressive, timeless pieces that balance craftsmanship with creative freedom.
